Built for a thumb

Not ported from a desktop. Tap to dig, hold to pin. Tap a number to outline the eight squares it is counting, and hold it to clear them.

The first dig is always safe. Bells are laid after it, away from that square and its ring, so every game opens with a clearing instead of a coin flip. Fields fit the shape of your screen, so a phone held upright gets a tall field with big tiles.

Tools for when you are stuck

A nudge rings a square it can prove and makes the move for you, then tells you why: one number gives it away, or two numbers overlap. Carry none, a few, or plenty.

Guides outline what a number is talking about. And if a bell rings deep into a board you nearly had, you get one undo.

Build your own field

Pick a size (Cozy, Curious, Daring or Quarry) or set your own columns and rows. Slide the bells from Gentle to Cruel, add a clock of 3, 10 or 20 minutes, and choose your nudges, guides and undo.

Want it hard? Hardcore is the Quarry with every bell the slider has, twenty minutes, and no nudges, no guides and no undo. The rules lock when the field is dealt.

Several fields, read back

Keep several fields going at once. Each saves on its own shelf, so you pick whichever suits the evening. Pausing covers the board, so the clock and the board stop together.

When a field ends, open it back up: every bell shown, your pins marked right or wrong, and every move you made listed in order.

Is it free? Are there ads?

Free, with no ads and no purchases. Nothing is locked behind a paywall.

Do I need an account?

No. There are no accounts, no sign-in and no analytics. Open it and play.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The Android app does not even hold the internet permission, so it plays in airplane mode, in a basement, or on a phone with no SIM.

Can I play without installing anything?

Yes. The same game is free in your browser at davidvorlov.com/game, and you can add it to your home screen to play offline.

What about my data?

Bellfield collects nothing. Your fields, times and settings stay on your device. Read the full privacy policy.
