Tycoon Teller privacy policy

Tycoon Teller is a banker for board games. It runs on the host's phone and on the players' devices in the same room. It has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics, and it does not talk to any server run by Orlov Digital or anyone else.

What the app stores

• Table data you enter: table name, player names and colors, balances, and the ledger of moves. This lives in a database on the host's phone. Players' browsers keep a copy of the current table so the screen can render while reconnecting.
• Device name you choose for the nearby-devices list, a random device identifier, and your theme and mode preferences. These are stored on your own device.

None of this leaves your local network. There is no cloud sync and no backup to any service. Deleting the app deletes the host's data. Players can clear their browser's site data.

Network use

• The host phone runs a small web server that other devices on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot connect to. Traffic stays on that network.
• Devices running the app announce themselves on the local network so other copies of the app can list nearby tables and send invites. The announcement contains the device name, the table name and code, and the player count. It is never sent to the internet.
• The app has no internet permission requirement for play and makes no internet requests of its own. The only outbound link is the "made by Orlov Digital" link in About, which opens your browser.

Permissions

• Nearby devices (Android 13 and later) or Location (Android 12 and earlier): used only to start a local hotspot when there is no Wi-Fi at the table. The app does not read or store your location. You can decline; the app works without it.
• Notifications: a persistent notification shows while your phone is hosting a table so the table stays up when the screen is off.

Children

Tycoon Teller collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Player names are whatever the people at the table type in and stay on the host's phone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version ships with the app and is posted at the same address.
